water transfer

Unlike any other means, water transfer is an innovative system used to paint and decorate complex 3D objects with unique individual drawings by transferring them from especially made films.

As a starting point, the process develops over a water-soluble film with already printed drawings on it. Once applied, the film dissolves in water leaving back the ink with the chosen motif on the item’s surface. In a typical process at first the object is painted with a primer, or other products which facilitate adhesion. Drying follows and then by the application of a transparent coat of paint for additional protection.

For instance, when replicating a wood grain décor, a coat of brown paint should first be applied, followed by the next decoration step. Here the film is then wrapped on the object, after which the object is dipped into water until the ink migrates all over and in doing so transferring the decoration evenly on the surface below. This uniquely painted item is then rinsed and eventually repainted with a shiny or mat finish.

Thus, the Water transfer process enables applicators to make complex 3D objects unique, regardless of their quantity, one or many.

One of the main points of reference of the Viso Water Transfer is the innovation in making it possible to reproduce any image or motive thanks to a personification process which makes the films totally unique in their kind.
